Spontaneous Beach Day!

Spontaneous Beach Day

We didn’t have any plans to go to the beach this weekend but when some friends of ours text us that is was 60 degrees with no wind, we threw a few extra layers in the truck and headed out.

The nice thing about where we live is that we are only 1 hour – 1.5 hours to the beach or mountain so spontaneous trips like this are easy.

It was blue skies and no wind! It’s usually so windy at the Oregon Coast so it was surprising that we had such great weather in March.

Both kids fell in the ocean and got soaked from head to toe (the water was freezing!) but we ended the night cozy by a campfire.

Here are a few photos from yesterday:

Charlie is really into RC cars and the boys had fun driving this around until they literally blew the engine!

The sunset was breathtaking last night. I took this sunset photo on my iPhone as we were walking along the water. So beautiful!

I can’t wait to be in Maui in a month. The sunsets there are amazing and we can actually swim in the ocean without freezing.

Such a fun day! Both kids fell asleep on the way home despite our best efforts to keep them entertained with a movie and treats.

We got home around 9:30pm, gave the kids a quick bath and they fell asleep instantly. Jason and I sat down to watch a movie but I also instantly fell asleep on the couch. Story of my life.

I have to say that it was the best feeling knowing I didn’t have to go to work on Monday. I used to always want to rush home on Sunday nights to put the house in order,  make sure there is food for the kids for Monday, and that everything is ready for the nanny.

It was a good, good weekend 🙂
