One thing I’ve learned over the years when it comes to fashion is “Quality Over Quantity.”
I used to have so many clothes, probably double, if not triple the amount of clothing than what I currently own.
I had all kinds of printed tops, shoes, purses and junk galore yet whenever it came time to get dressed, “I had nothing to wear.”
About a year after Charlie was born, I purged more than 60% of my closet and decided I was going to change my approach to fashion.
I no longer buy items because they are on sale.
I no longer buy tons of individual pieces because they speak to me in the store, only to come home and never wear them because I can’t seem to make an outfit out of them.
I now only purchase an item if I can already come up with 3-4 different outfit combinations with items I already have in my closet at home.
Gone are the days where I stand in front of a closet full of clothes and have nothing to wear.
I love every single piece of clothing in my closet and I know exactly how I would wear it every single time, and I have less clothes than ever!
The key… don’t buy something unless you can come up with 3-4 different outfit combinations right off the bat.
This skirt is an item that I fell in love with when I bought it. It was something that matched so many items in my closet and so I wanted to share 4 ways to wear one basic skirt!
This first look is actually my Sunday outfit of the day. I simply wore it with a black tee and black accessories. Comfortable but put together:
Look number two is a Fall inspired look because Fall is just around the corner! This outfit would also be cute with thigh high boots!
This third look is more of a summer look. Comfortable, light and perfect for a warm summer day:
This last outfit is perfect for date night or a girls night out. I love this vintage linen blazer that I thrifted last year:
You can shop my looks here:
My White Linen Blazer is a thrifted vintage find so I can’t link it up! My brown booties are also old by Madewell so I linked up some similar ones. The eyelet top is by Topshop and is also old but here are few similar eyelet tops:
You can see more of these outfits on my Instagram stories today!
I plan on sharing more posts like this to share ideas on how you can mix and match closet staples to make multiple outfits with less, stay tuned!
