My Birthday Week!

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Last week was by birthday week (February 20th and it was 02/20/2020, pretty cool!)

Thank you all for the messages and birthday wishes, I read every single one of them!

I don’t know what it was about this year, but we celebrated a lot (and I’m not complaining)!

The celebrations started on Friday the week before my birthday with a weekend trip to Seattle with my mom and sister.

We had so much fun exploring Seattle, eating at new places and shopping the most amazing Nordstrom Rack designer sale ever.

If you follow me on Instagram then you saw my designer clearance haul and the huge markdowns I got on some tops, dresses, etc.

We also ate way too many Piroshkys from the market but they were so good.

February is also my moms birthday month so this trip was for both of our birthdays and just a good excuse to have a girls weekend trip again!

We came home on Sunday afternoon and it was a much needed little getaway. I love going on trips with my mom and sister.

My sister-in-law took me to brunch on my actual birthday Thursday morning and Claire came along.

We tried a new place in Portland called LaLuna Cafe and it was so good!

Claire is so cute, she’s getting so big and she’s my little mini-me, I mean look at that pose.

When we take photos, she looks over at me to see how I am standing so she can copy me. I love her!

My sister-in-law Jenn is pretty amazing and one of my closest friends. So grateful for her!

I’m blessed that all of my sister-in-laws are awesome and I don’t have to say that just to make them feel good, I actually mean it!

Then later that evening Jason took me and the kids out to dinner at my favorite Lebanese restaurant.

THEN (as if that wasn’t enough) on Friday, Jason planned a fancy dinner at my favorite Steakhouse with our closest friends AND he planned a surprise birthday party with my whole family on Saturday night.

Let’s just say my birth-DAY turned into a birth-WEEK and it was pretty special.

Honestly, I would have been happy with flowers, cake and one nice dinner with Jason but feel extra loved and special 🙂

It was a really, really good week.

Here are a few more photos from my birthday:

When I was a teenager I couldn’t wait to be in my 20’s, then when I reached my 20’s I dreaded my 30’s (30 seemed so old!), and now that I am in my 30’s I am just thankful for each year that I am healthy and get to spend with my family.

I still don’t like the fact that I am getting older, but once we had kids I realized how fast time was flying and instead of focusing on the age number, I find myself focusing more on living in the moment.

I try to enjoy every minute I am awake and find the beauty and joy in everything I do.

People always told me you are in your prime in your 30’s and I think they were right, my 30’s have been some of the best years of my life.

It’s like something happened when I turned 30.

For one, you realize 30 really isn’t that old!

You also kind of stop caring what people think about you, you mature in a lot of ways, most likely meet some career and financial goals, have one or two kids, and settle into a house.

You kind of just “grow up” in a lot of ways and start seeing a lot of the fruits of your labor (hard work) starts to pay off.

I don’t know why I was so afraid of my 30’s because they have been pretty awesome!

I thank God every day for all of the many blessings in my life and for each new day to live and enjoy them!

Here’s to 34!
