FAQ’s Answered

Whenever I get questions from my readers, they are generally around the same topics and I have been keeping track of my most frequently asked questions so that I can answer them all here!

I broke the questions down into categories so you can look for the answers that you are most interest in!

Personal/Beauty Questions:

Do you work or are you a stay at home mom?

Yes, I work part time in Finance! I work Mondays & Tuesdays and it is a set schedule with the flexibility of working from home. I have worked full time as a mom and have done the stay at home thing too but I am honestly happiest with my current schedule! I love Mondays and Tuesdays at the office and then love being home with the kids the rest of the week. This also gives me time to pursue other things like blogging! It is a really good balance for me and life is best when you can find your happy balance 🙂

Do you want more kids?

This is a hard question to answer! As of right now, we would definitely say no. My pregnancies and deliveries were both really hard and we are so thankful to have two beautiful and healthy babies (boy and a girl)! BUT, that being said, we will see what happens! I am open if God decides to bless us with another little one!

What hair products do you use?

Honestly, nothing fancy. I have tried everything from the cheapest products to some higher priced ones and have found them to all be comparable. Expensive doesn’t necessarily mean better! Here are the products that work really well for my hair:

Do you wear hair extensions?

No, I just have a lot of hair! Not only do I have a lot of hair, but it’s also thick (not fine) so it seems really full. My mom has thick hair and so does my sister so it’s obviously genetic.

What skincare products do you use?

Again, when it comes to my skin, less is more. I use soap and water when I wash my face (this probably makes some of you cringe because I have been told that soap and water is so harsh for your skin but it works for me!) Lots of products that I have tried have actually made my face break out or get too dry – so soap and water it is for me!

For moisturizer, I alternate between Kiehls Midnight Recovery Oil and a very simple tried and true lotion: Cedaphil. In the summer my skin is less dry so I use the Kiehls oil and in the colder months I use Cedaphil which is not only an awesome moisturizer, but my makeup goes on soooo smooth and flawless over it! I started using Cedaphil every day in the morning and before bed and I have noticed a huge improvement in my overall skin tone.

What are your go-to daily makeup products?

I am also working on a “get ready with me” video where I will share my daily makeup routine but for now, I will just link up the products I use every day. To fill in my brows I use the Anastasia brow kit and you can find that here.

Are you Romanian? Is your husband Romanian? Do you speak Romanian?

Yes, yes and yes! People always think Jason is American, or Irish – probably the red hair! We were both born in the United States but our parents are from Romania. We both speak Romanian although his Romanian is pretty rusty 😉 He understands it more than he can speak it. Our kids know a few Romanian words but respond in English. I speak to them in Romanian but they never reply back in Romanian.

Blog Related Questions:

Who designed your website?

Jason (my husband) did! He actually came up with my blog name too: He has always been so supportive of my blogging and has helped me more than anyone!

What camera do you use?

I used a Canon Rebel for years but recently upgraded to the Canon 80D and LOVE it so much! It has a flip screen too which is awesome for filming YouTube videos and tutorials. It is a great camera, I am really happy with it so far! I am planning on purchasing the Canon ef-s 24-70 mm f/2.8 lens soon. My sister in-law used this lens for a few of our photo shoots and I fell in love with it.  I also have the newest iPhone and use that as well. The camera is amazing!

Who takes your blog photos?

My sister-in-law takes a lot of my blog photos. She is a photographer and I love her work, she is also so fun to work with! You can checkout her website and portfolio here. In between our scheduled shoots, Jason takes my photos and when no one is available, I use a remote with my Canon 80D. Having the flip out screen has made this so easy because I can actually see what I’m shooting! The photos in this post are taken with a remote, just to give you an idea of how they turn out.

How do you get sponsored posts?

They contact me via e-mail. I didn’t sign up for any programs or outreach sites where sponsorship’s can find me. I just try to be consistent and put out new content every week!

Brands like to see consistency! If you are a blogger, keep posting regularly, be yourself and eventually they will start reaching out to work with you! I am actually working on a post right now that outlines everything you need to know about starting a blog! Stay tuned for that in the coming weeks 🙂

Thrift Shopping Related Questions:

What are your favorite thrift shops?

You can see my list of favorite thrift shops in the Portland/Metro area in my blog post here.

How often are you thrifting in order to find so many things?

I try to thrift once per week if not once every two weeks. It relaxes me and the more you go, the more likely you are to find the best things! I don’t rush to buy things new! I look for them at thrift stores and if I don’t have any luck, I will then buy the item new if I really want it.

Do you resale your thrifted items?

Yes! I am putting together a list of places that I resale at in the Portland/Metro area and will share it soon.

What is the link to your Etsy shop?

I no longer sell on Etsy! I had to choose between blogging and my Etsy shop and blogging is less work and still brings me some supplemental income, so this is what I am focusing on now!
