My kids love board games and puzzles and with our long winters and rainy weather, we need to find ways to stay entertained while spending more hours indoors.
Some of the more classic games can take hours to play and are hard to play with kids of different ages.
Other games are too easy and are over too quickly and become redundant.
Both scenarios are a recipe for boredom which defeats the purpose of board games and puzzles!
I’ve done quite a bit of online digging to find fun, new games to keep my kiddos (and myself) entertained and here are some that we are loving!
Hoot Owl Hoot!
This game is so cute and both my 6 year old and 4 year old enjoy it!
To play the game you Fly your owls home to their nest before the sun rises and everybody wins.
This game promotes team work and collaboration and it is not competitive, which makes for fun for everyone since there isn’t really a loser.
Ideal for ages 4+ and you can find it at Target!
The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game
To play this game you spin the spinner and pick up a corresponding colored acorn with the squirrel squeezer.
The first one to fill their log wins!
This game is great for hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and color learning.
It gets fun when you start to pick, steal and lose acorns!
This is a fun and engaging game even for younger kids of 3.
Animal Upon Animal
Race to be the first to stack all your wooden animals onto the animal pile.
Each player takes turns rolling the dice to see which action to take and how many animals to pile on top of each other.
My kids love this game and laugh whenever their animal pile falls over.
Fun for all ages!
Apples to Apples
This game is really fun for older kids but my 6 year old can play with me if I help him.
This is a fun game but is also educational which I love!
To play, you choose a card from your deck of cards that you think best fits with the card the judge displays. If the judge selects your card, you win!
Sounds really simple and basic but I’ve played this game with adults and it is seriously so fun and hilarious!
We got our at Kohls or Target!
Yulu Spy Code Escape Room
Escape Room is an interactive game that taps into the escape room trend by combining skill, strategy and teamwork to search, solve and escape the room before time runs out!
First, lock the belt on a player and set the timer on the belt. You must solve a series of three challenges, a Skill Challenge, Strategy Challenge and Luck Challenge to retrieve the key that unlocks your friend.
If all the tasks are not solved within the time frame on the belt, the player wearing the belt stays captured and everyone loses.
This game delivers hours of fun over and over again!
Although this game is for older kids (5 or 6+), little ones will enjoy watching!

First Orchard
For this fun game for kids as little as 2, you roll the dice and fill your basket with fruit before the sky raven gets to the orchard.
This game is great for developing color identification, counting, and developing social skills.
I love that smaller kids and older kids both love this one!
You can find this game on Amazon.com.
Here are some puzzles that my kids are loving right now:
