Coffee lover? Yes, please!
If you follow me on Instagram stories you may have noticed that I am often holding a cup of coffee at some point in the morning and again in the afternoon.
I love to have a cup of coffee in the morning and another “pick me up”, as I like to call it, in the afternoon around 2pm or so.
In this post I will talk about my coffee machine, what types of coffee pods I use, and share five of my favorite recipes.
I’m only sharing five for now because there are just too many!
So to give you even MORE coffee inspo, I started a Pinterest board dedicated to coffee and pinned some other delicious recipes that I want to try and that you might want to try as well!
The possibilities are endless!
Nespresso Vurtuo Coffee Maker & Espresso Machine with Aeroccino
First, let’s talk about my coffee machine, because you can’t really make coffee without a coffee machine.
I have the Nespresso Virtuo Coffee Maker & Espresso machine with Aeroccino Bundle in red.
The “Aeroccino” is the frother that makes your milk all foamy and amazing.
The reason I love this machine so much is because I can make drip coffee, americanos, lattes, espresso, and more.
This particular coffee machine runs around $250 but I’ve seen it go on sale here and there, you just have to keep an eye on it.
I am sure it will go on sale again around the holidays, it always does!
Coffee Capsules:
When you purchase the machine it comes with a little pack of pods: 12 are included – 8 coffee and 4 espresso but there are sooo many to choose from, it can be overwhelming at first.
If you have a Nespresso store anywhere near you, I highly recommend going in person and trying the different flavors.
They have a coffee bar and they will make every single flavor for you to taste until you find the ones you love.
Make a date night out of it (or morning date if you don’t want to be up all night!).
I won’t go into detail about each capsule flavor because there are too many and everyone has their own preference in terms of coffee, so I will just list my favorites here:
Coffee Pods (7.8oz)
Espresso (1.35oz):
Seasonal:
- Pumpkin Spice – no longer available
- Nordic Cinnamon Swirl – YUMMM! In season now!
- Cafe de Cuba
Syrups & Things:
To make different flavors of coffee, I purchased this Torani Sugar Free Holiday Variety Pack to have on hand!
I bought sugar free because I want it to be guilt free, but if you find that sugar free tastes different, you can by the regular Torani Syrups here!
A few other items to add to your coffee station:
And lastly you can’t forget the milk because you need it to froth and get that nice foam on top! I don’t drink regular milk so I like to use either Almond Milk or Oat Milk.
Oat Milk is my favorite for coffee, it adds the best flavor!
Now let’s get into the recipes!
5 Delicious Nespresso Coffee Recipes:
Oatmilk Latte:
This is my go-to and what I drink every morning.
I usually drink my lattes unsweetened because I love the flavor of the Oatmilk, but you can add any flavor sryup to the mix to make a Vanilla Latte, etc.
- 1 Nespresso Coffee Pod (7.8oz)
- 1 Espresso Pod (1.35oz) – I like an extra shot but this is optional!
- Oat Milk to the 1st line in the Aeroccino Frother
In a cup, brew the Espresso Shot first and then the Coffee on top.
Fill the Aeroccino Frother to the first line and push the button to froth the milk.
Pour the milk and foam on top and enjoy!
If you want to make it sweet, you add the syrup at the bottom of the mug first, then follow the sequence above. This can be done with any type of milk as well.
Caramel Honey Latte
When I want a sweeter treat, this is a delicious option!
- 1 – 2 Espresso Pods (1.35oz) – 2 pods makes stronger coffee.
- 1.5 Tbs Caramel Sauce
- 1.5 Tbs Honey
- 4 Oz Milk
Place caramel sauce in the bottom of the mug, brew espresso directly into mug with caramel sauce and stir to combine.
Add honey and milk in Aeroccino frother and turn on to heat milk.
Pour hot milk and honey over espresso and enjoy! So good!
Camp Fire Latte
This is a great dessert drink for entertaining guests in the wintertime!
You can serve it as caffeinated, half calf, or decaf if in the evenings!
- 1 – 2 Espresso Pods (1.35oz) – 2 pods makes stronger coffee OR use 1 Coffee Decalf or Half Calf
- 1 Oz Vanilla Syrup
- 1 Tbs Chocolate Sauce
- 5 Oz Milk
- Graham Cracker Crumbs (1 Scoop)
- Mini-Marshmallows
Pour Vanilla syrup and Chocolate Sauce in the bottom of the mug and brew the coffee on top. Stir to combine.
Froth the milk and pour on top.
Top with marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs!
Basic Macchiato
Another basic drink but a good one that I sometimes like to make.
- 2 Espresso pods of your choice
- Sugar
- .7 Oz Milk frothed
Place sugar in bottom of espresso mug, brew coffee and add milk. Sprinkle with chocolate flakes if you want!
Cinnamon Cappuccino
And lastly another one of my faves, a Cinnamon Cappuccino. I first had something similar in Greece and loved it so here is my version!
- 1 Shot of Espresso
- Cinnamon Syrup
- Cinnamon Powder
- 2 Oz frothed milk
In an espresso mug, add cinnamon syrup and brew espresso on top.
Add the frothed milk and sprinkle with cinnamon. Delicious!
