The weather is cooling off as Fall approaches and soon our wardrobes will be changing from less to layers.
Transitioning from season to season can sometimes be a challenge wardrobe-wise, but having a few “transitional” pieces to get you from summer to fall can make getting dressed much easier.
Here are seven of my favorite transitional wardrobe pieces to get you from summer to fall:
The blazer I am wearing in this outfit is actually a few years old but it is a classic and seems to always come back in style each fall. I love it because it isn’t too heavy but it’s warm enough to get me from day to night. I also love that I can dress it up or down.
Black and/or Brown Booties
Booties can be worn with dresses, shorts, jeans and just about any outfit. Having a nice pair of black and/or brown ones are a closet staple and they can be worn year round. For transitioning from summer to fall, I love to wear mine with a mini skirt or a pair of shorts.
Loafers can’t really be worn in the winter because it’s cold and rainy, but they are awesome for late summer and early fall. I love wearing my loafers with a cozy oversized sweater and mom jeans.
Leather or Suede Jacket
Again, a closet staple in my opinion. You can throw a leather or suede jacket over basically any outfit. Wearing it over your shoulders makes a chic look for colder evenings.
Trench coats are lighter and perfect for milder weather.
I love a good pair of jeans. Lately, I am really loving high waisted mom jeans or high waisted vintage style Levis. Throw on a cozy oversized sweater and slip on loafers, and you look effortlessly put together.
Wear them with shorts, jeans, skirts and just about anything. H&M has some really cute oversized sweaters right now.
Here is a transitional outfit that I wore this weekend. I paired this oversized blazer with my favorite pair of vintage Levis shorts and booties.
